Hiya guys just wondered what plate is the last for a scorp, i thought it finished on an "s" but have since seen a "V Plate" registered in Oct 1999 ??

Anybody shed sum light ?

The reason i ask is because i am thinking about buying a scorpio ultima 2.3 Noveuo Red Metallic on a V plate for £4995 but its only covered 3200 miles inwhich i thought was pretty good.

Feel free to add any comments.

Guys, if i was to buy his scorp im thinking of getting it resprayed to black, is this a bad idea and does anybody know how much a full respray would set me back ??

Why???? It is one of the best colours for the car. I had an S reg in this colour and it was beautiful when polished.

To be honest Alan, I would imagine if you aint got a deposit on this by now, it will be gone by Monday anyway with the amount of publicity its had on here and its on the Autotrader as well!

Baz,

Ive been trying to get in contact the people selling the scorp without any success so i will have to wait till monday to speak to them anyway, its not in autotrader at the minute so hopefully not alot of people have discovered this as yet.

Colourwise i do like it but the missus doesnt so that is the reason for it to be resprayed but i think i can talk her round, that cortina auction is unbelievable, great stuff.

regarding the spraying,IF you want a top job done,and all the car sprayed (you will have to remove everything,masking up is not really an option i would imagine),price i would guestimate.....
2 -3k.... ??? ???
but like baz said,that red is gorgeous.......

Blummin eck.
That Cortina is a beaut. i can remember my second car was a Cortina in that colour.
It would be a shame to register it.

Personally i wouldn`t respray the Scorp. to have a good job you would have to remove all the door cards, spray inside the boot and engine bay, a lot of work so it will be an expensive job.
Keep the original colour.

Jay,

inside the bonnet and engine bay of my silver one is white, the red one I had was black and flat red, so maybe a black one could be red as well!! Never made any sense!!
