Title: 1st MOT
Post by Mike-OddJob on Jul 17th, 2005, 12:10pm
Well the day finally arrived time for my 1st MOT with the new Scorp  :-X

FAILED :'(

Requires new n/s bottom balljoint which of course means complete new suspension arm. (there's another story about this)
(FINIS: FD 7372346  £98.35 + vat)
Could you believe it my local FMD had one in stock :o

I had also asked him to do a brake fluid change and to change all the nipples for new ones (ready for greasing up) and would you believe it only then did he discover that the brake flexi-pipe had a split in it (apparently couldn't be seen without removing the wheel) Shall be taking the rest of the wheels off now myself and take a good close look.

Anyhow, arm now on, brake fluid changed and PASSED MOT for one more year of Scorpio delight.  ;D

Total bill: £60.00 inc vat (inc. flexi-pipe) + £37.00 MOT
(I supplied the arm, nipples and brake fluid) and oh! the guy knows me

The TIS manual states that the tracking needs to be checked after the arm has been been replaced is this right?  If so add another £24. when I get it done.

Now all I need is £170 for tax at the end of the month. Aren't cars great :'(

hi there

easier to keep the steering wheel 'straight' when doing it 'square', so to speak.
