Title: back on the road again! Post by scorpio_man on Dec 17th, 2005, 3:29pm hi guys thanks for all the great offers of help. i've had a look at it and it doesn't look good. the inner wing is bent and the slam panel has rised slightly. also it won't start. thought it was the fuel cut off switch but it didn't trip out. i've found a big multi-plug (like the cruise control one) which has snapped off from somewhere behind the drivers headlight, so it might be that. i'll need to sue her/ her company for my gas install as it doesn't get covered. >:( still, no one was hurt, so that's not bad. |

Post by scorpio_man on Dec 28th, 2005, 10:07am hi there well, got the car started. multi-plug on the edis unit was broken off. gearbox appears fine, clicking into every gear on the selector. steering again seems fine. bodywork damage that i can see: o/s front wing, big kink on o/s inner wing (2 of), o/s headlight, o/s fog light and indicator (plus multi-plug for indicator), washer bottle, bumper, bonnet moved to the right slightly, plastic cover for cruise control module, slam panel raised and dented slightly. just need to wait on insurance now. i'll contact my wee bodyshop and see if they can give me some advice. :-/ |

I guess you will be aiming for a " contract repair " to keep the cost away from write off values < although it doesn't look that bad from here > .. put it this way ..if one came into me like that then I wouldn't be the slightest bit worried about either the repair or of the safety aspect afterwards .. but if you need an inner wing and wing .. with either a part front panel < or full > with the bonnet slam panel attached then just give me the nod .. < may help your bodyshop with ease of lining up > ... see how you go mate anyway ... regards ...
