Title: Special thanks to Bill and all at Powercraft
Post by barrie on Feb 3rd, 2006, 7:50pm
To cut a very long story short I had my car in a local garage for a leak from the pipe that runs between the heads. When I got it back the leak was cured but my car had lost all its power and it run like a pig, it had air leaks all over and the egr valve wasn't even conected

By his time I was so fed up with the car and almost decided to get rid, but as I was going to Devon for a week over Christmas. I would book it in with Bill for him to take a look at. On arrival at Powercraft I was greeted by the sight of 5 scorpios and I just knew that this was the place to sort my car.

We had a few cups of coffee and a long chat and i came to the decision that i would leave my car with him, as there were plenty of faults to bring my car back to the condition that it deserves. I knew that I was going to miss my car while it was there but to my suprise Bill handed me the keys to a very tidy Scorpio 2.9, for me to use while mine was away

I left it with him for a couple of weeks and he did loads of work for me including fitting a new stainless exhaust. What a great job he made it sounds wicked and looks the business with its twin tails.

My car now drives like new and handles like a dream, the engine sounds sweet and no rattles anymore. I live over 300 miles away from Powercraft but Chris met me 100 miles from my house to deliver it back to me

Just wanted to say the service he gave me was outstanding, the quality of his work is excellent and all very reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to take it back to him in the future.

Thanks Bill and all at Powercraft/ Watson engineering

Barrie

Im sure he would do Baz

Its the best thing that i have done since getting my Scorp
He replaced the steering rack, machined all my discs and fitted new pads, sorted my heater out, fixed my rear window, fitted mudflaps, and loads of other things

Its just like getting a totally different car back

Well Bill, i think you've made your mark  ;D

Sounds like you could do with mine for a while and get it ticketyboo lol

Anyway its good to know there is someone like you around thats obviously takes pride in their work and strives for customer satisfaction, something that seems to be lacking these days.

BTW where abouts are you and powercraft?

regards

Paul

I have heard somewhere that a car running on LPG can pass the MOT emissions without a cat as LPG burns much cleaner than petrol  ???

What's that Paulscorp going on about people getting let down for. Such modesty from a Scorpio owner.

The steering rack I got off him is on it's way north to me as I type. Cheers Paul stand up and be counted as one who does NOT let people down.

Incidentally Kevin who picked it up off you describes your motor as sex on rubber. he's drooling over it.

Cheers Bren, very kind words, i like to think both me and russ have a helped a few people out in the short time we've been here on the site and have not let anyone down yet and don't intend to, so it hurts all the more when someone does it to us. The main aim is to keep all our scorps on the road - of course we recoup some of the money we've spent on getting the scrappers in, but in the long run we all can benefit from cheap bits and pieces for our motors.

Let me know how you get on with the rack, should sort you out a treat.

Glad Kev liked the car, but compared to some on here, mine is no show piece - you should show him a picture of Baz's - a real credit to Baz a lot of work gone into that one

Baz lives very near me, only about 2-3 miles, must get to meet up with him soon, but looking at his motor I would be embarassed at putting mine next to his......

BUT  I am joining the big boys todayand I am buying a cossie off Des (it's in the cars for sale section) that started off as going to his for a remote fob.

You'll be mine this afternoon sexy (the car that is)

should have asked me for a remote....I always have a few!!! And there is no way you would have bought my car off me!! so it would have saved you some money.

I had the leather and the auto on my Granada Scorpio and couldn't get the same spec when I eventually found my present girlfriend - just over the other side of town in Appleton, so I took the oportunity of grabbing Des's when I saw it.

it's sat in the garage at work now, my brother in law drove it over there for me and had a bet with me that I would have it out within a few days. I told him it was staying in there until my insurance rolls over in June (didn't get custody of the no claims bonus when I split with my mrs)

If I'm driving a 2.0l and have a cossie ready to go who do you think will win the bet. Watch out for it around town to see who wins.

p.s .... if you have a few fobs what's the chance of you having a few, or even one, interior mirrors as well. Need one for the 2.0l

I have one of the ultima chromatic mirrors and one "normal" dipping ones

Which do you need?

The auto chromatic mirror. There was a thread going on the mailing lists a couple of months ago about ordering mirrors from a manufacturer in Ireland, but it petered out.
