Well I picked my scorp up from the garage yesterday after having, first, another head fitted then having both manifolds changed and in between, because they couldn't remove the egr pipe from the old manifold a new one of those (£45 for a bit of pipe from fmd >:( )
Then had the oil & filter changed (full synth £20 - thanks national tyres)

Got her home and put my obd code reader on and got a P0340 - camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. looked under the bonnet and cured this by removing the cable to the sensor from being trapped under the top cover :o (don't ask but it worked !) I have found that one of the cooling fans only runs slow (better than before cos it didn't used to run at all) & apart from a tappet noise (which I'll live with) would seem to be healthy again, I only bought her in Feb for £1200 and have since payed another £1045 to put her right and tax her, hope it don't carry on in that vein or I'll be filling for bancruptcy soon :-/

Sounds similar to mine, paid a modest sum but had to spend out making her right.

You should be over the worst! :)

Should have given us a shout mate, i got a new pipe for the manifold here - never mind at least you got her back now

would have asked, but it was an instant reaction when phoned by the garage to be told that that was all we needed for to put her back on the road, just blurted out "well if thats all we need now , best have it !!"
