Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by cossieguy on Aug 5th, 2006, 8:05am No idea if they would work on Scorp? Any ideas anyone? Had read somewhere on here that people had tried all sorts of other remotes and none worked so doubt this would. |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by Daven on Aug 5th, 2006, 8:43am Would be surprised somehow - don't our fobs change frequency every so often? This one would have to be able to re-read the signal. It does look the same shape, so if it doesn't work you may be able to use the rubber key pad in a Ford remote! Dave |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by cossieguy on Aug 5th, 2006, 11:59am I believe that our remotes change freq every time its used, thats why you have to reprogram the remote when you change batteries so it can regain it's synch with the car. |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by Mikesmount on Aug 15th, 2006, 5:26pm So what about this one? Number 300016529170 |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by cossieguy on Aug 15th, 2006, 7:12pm Got a feeling these are RF key fobs and ours are infra red (Hope i'm correct in saying that) so don't think they'll work either. |
||
Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by Mikesmount on Aug 15th, 2006, 7:28pm No ... I am pretty sure they are RF, because there is no light sender on them, and no infra red receiver in the car. My last "toy" was a Citroen XM which did have an infra red blipper, and there was a translucent plastic receiver above the windscreen. If the one I have ordered arrives and works (I asked him to cancel the transaction if it was known to be unsuitable) I will let you all know very forthwith indeed! John ;) |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by cossieguy on Aug 16th, 2006, 3:45pm I stand corrected, and really shouldn't have said that as my other car a mk1 mondeo uses an infra red remote(Engage brain before opening mouth) and has receiver built into door handle! Why if ours are rf is the range so poor? I'm using a brand new remote but compared to other cars i've driven the range of the remote is pathetic only 15 metres or so. |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by nuttyscorp on Aug 16th, 2006, 4:42pm 15 meters ???, erm, i get about 1 meter, and thats with new batteries in it :-/ Russ |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by mr._floppy on Aug 16th, 2006, 6:47pm Why would you need a greater range than 15 metres ! Do the Top Gear trick and double your range if it's that important. :-* |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by Mikesmount on Aug 16th, 2006, 10:32pm The remote fob I ordered is not suitable for the Scorpio. I wish the vendor had answered my query before accepting a payment, but as a research fee on behalf of the community, I suppose it was money well spent!!! |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by Octavian_P on Aug 17th, 2006, 3:35pm Does the ford transit match the scorpio remote ?? they look exactly the same !!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-TRANSIT-2000-CONNECT-TC7-REMOTE-LOCKING-KEY-FOB_W0QQitemZ130017512791QQihZ003QQcategoryZ21654QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRANSIT-REMOTE-FOB-AND-PROGRAMME-INSTRUCTIONS_W0QQitemZ170018654217QQihZ007QQcategoryZ21654QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-FORD-TRANSIT-KEY-FOB-CONNECT-WITH-INSTRUCTIONS_W0QQitemZ140018210633QQihZ004QQcategoryZ21654QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by Simmo on Aug 17th, 2006, 3:59pm I'm sure the answer to this is no. This has been referred to before on the basis that they appear identical. If you are thinking of buying you should have a 'return if un-suitable' deal if this is possible on ebay. |
||
Title: Re: Remote fobs Post by Kjetil S on Aug 17th, 2006, 3:59pm Don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do. The Transit and the Scorpio does share a lot of parts. |
