Had the bad luck of getting a ride in a discovery the other day (what a piece of crap) why any one would want one is beyond me,but the good news is its fitted with the same auto dim mirror as the scorpio the driver however wouldnt let me remove it to be 100% (cant think why?)so next time your in a breakers check one out it was a 96MY

Is it the proper Discovery one??
I've got a Discovery which has the electric mirror but looks nothing like the Scorpio's

Seen similar mirrors to the Scorpio in older Jaguars though

spot on the same,they must use more than one type then! bet the scorpio one will be the least common then?

some of the disco models use the same diesel lump.
i would guess that the scorp auto dim mirror is readily available stateside, might be worth a look...

I remember putting up a post with a link on for the company in the states that actually manufactures these mirrors.
Unfortunately I am very busy tonight getting ready for a dash to Paris in the morning and won't be able to dig back.

Somebody should be able to locate it, or find the same site, I would have only been using Google when I dug it out.

Mabye XJ40 onwards had an electric one, the SIII had a standard lever one, it was a 5.3 Sovereign too, don't think it was any different on the Daimler either ;)

Watching a film the other night, a US patrol car (not sure if it was a Crown Vic, had a Ford oval anyway :)) had Scorpio door handles, identical too in the closeups...

Newer Galaxy, Mondeo, Cougar as a donor for the mirror?

Yep, crown vics have the same door handles.
