Title: Update On Theft Attempt
Post by Paul B on Oct 24th, 2006, 10:32pm
I returned today from a trip to USA.
Did the usual thing of wading through all the junk messages left on the answer machine but, in among those was one from the Police. They had an update about the attempted theft of my car. You probably all remember the thread on that....

Look What I Found This Morning (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=OT;action=display;num=1159196430;start=0)

Anyway, I thought I'd call them back tomorrow and decided to sleep this afternoon to try and catch up. Interrupting my nap was another call from the Police. They were quite keen to tell me the news (so far).

The news is that..... they've caught the guy who did it!  :o

What I know so far is that this guy has been picked up for something else but, being that they had a DNA sample from the fag butt he left at my car (tw*t), he's admitted trying to nick it.

Don't know what other crimes he's done, but he was up in court today apparently and the Police have asked for a claim for compensation to be considered.

I should, hopefully, get another call tomorrow for a further update.

Brilliant News!!

At least you'll be able to see who the little effluent is. Hope you get some cash out of him too.

You ARE joking aren't you?

They bothered to test for his DNA?

Well done mate, that is a good result ;)

Yes they did. Well, kind of.
I mean, they wouldn't have done if I hadn't made them.

The officer was content with just taking away the broken steering column piece for a print.
I was disappointed with that and 'suggested' that they consider the cigarette seeing as I'm not a smoker.

Lucky I watch CSI I suppose  ::)

No more news yet though.

Find out where he lives and go and smack him when they let him off with a caution.... smack his kids and wife too because they deserve a bit of it too!\

One thing strikes me in all of this - what sort of a thief was he? He seems to be niether thick nor intelligent.

I mean only an intelligent person would go for a Scorpio, surely?  They don't have particularly high resale or parts value on the black market and - let's face it - they aren't desirable to the general public. So that he went for the car in the first place suggests at least some grey matter.

And yet surely an intelligent theif would know that you CAN'T steel a scorpio unless you first steel the keys because it has an unbreakable immobiliser.

Cheers

im guessing it was someone who knew it was 24v but not of its security, 24v engines are great in kit cars.

Are you kidding?  :o

One of those evil green semen spitting mirror things that wrecks your interior.

Now what WOULD have been funny, is if the thick scumbag had fitted it in his OWN car, and it had leaked!!  ;D   ;D

That WOULD have been justice.

Agree with other posters. Cut his hands off, and feed them to the mirror!!   }{  }{

I don't have a green semen spitter - mine's a good'un.
But if he had nicked it, I'd be praying it f***ed up for him. As you say, some sort of justice.

Still no news yet guys. Been waiting gor them to call back.
I might give them a call tomorrow, just in case they forgot me.

Paul,

I'm very pleased to hear that plod actually attended your crime scene, and appear to be doing something but.....

Seriously,

Dont hold your breath.  Find out when the little sh*t is next in court, go along or get someone else who aint busy to, and sit in the public gallery.  That way, when he comes before the beak and the clerk asks him are you Mr so and so of such and such...... bingo you have his address.

Dont bank on getting any compo or that he'll get a decent sentence.  He'll probably get off with a free safari to Zambia or summat.

The old bear says:- Yahhh......"sexually orientated" Knob Jockeys the lot of 'em...... Shoot the little sh*ts !!!!   ;D ;D ;D

I'd kind of given up hope.

Mind you, why should I give up?  :-/
I'll persue this again tomorrow.

Well I have an update, finally. Not very detailed I'm afraid but its all the news I could gather.

As you may remember, this thief was picked up for another, more serious crime and his DNA matched to items found in my car (he admitted trying to take it).

Anyhow, he's been to court, got found guilty, and is now behind bars.

Justice done... kind of  ;)

Good news - let's hope system enables it to be followed through.  All those arrested now automatically have dna & fingerprints recorded.  Fingerprint databases searches 1m records per second so related crimes start coming up on the screen immediately!  DNA takes 1hr+.  Know of one incident where a toerag decided he'd pee in though open window of police car left when they were hot footing it after someone - gave them all the dna they needed to catch him an hour or so later!
Cheers, johndyork.

Another small update...

Got a letter today from Kent Police Prosecution Team with some details.

It states that the offender (one of the Hilden family - very well known around these parts) appeared at Worthing Court on November 7th charged with another matter and asked for this offence to be taken into consideration.

He was sentenced as follows:
16 weeks imprisonment, wholly suspended for 18 months.
18 months supervision requirement.
9 months drug rehabilitation requirement.

Well Paul, at least they kept you informed...but it niggles me that the little oik got away with a suspended >:(

On the local news this morning, police are hunting 2 teens for attempted murder of 3 men after they went on a rampage, trying to run down pedestrians...what the hell is happening these days???

Regards, Bruce.

Well I'm surprised anything happened at all. The police usually shy away when they find out the Hildens are involved. I think they're scared of them.

Sounds as tho the Courts are scared of them as well >:(
Though I understand that the prisons are particularly fully booked just at the moment, shame the idiots who supposedly run the country don't spend some of the billions they squander on useless computer systems and leeching "consultants" on building more prisons to accommodate the scroats who make the lives of us foolish taxpayers a misery :(

I heard on the radio today that Police had decided not to prosecute 2 men for deliberately damaging parked cars...... It turns out that these men were from Eastern Europe and it wouldn't be in the public interest to prosecute them because of the cost and because of the likely outcome.....I agree, what on earth is this country coming to and why will the police, judges or politicians not do something about it?

When can we have a revolution please?

Surely they should have been sent home then! Wasn't there some sort of legislation coming out for that very reason??
I'm sure I read that if immigrants broke the law within a certain timescale they were to be returned home
