Title: Pictures in posts Post by Tim_Lusername on Feb 26th, 2007, 1:19pm Hi This is a great forum I've found huge amounts of info in here. I was just wondering would it be useful if I created a Flickr group for Scorpios so that people could post pictures of any size there and then drop links into their posts? With a free account I think you are allowed 200 pictures each which should last a while! Best regards Tim |

Title: Re: Pictures in posts Post by wbph on Mar 1st, 2007, 8:59pm I would love to put pics of my Scorpio on here, but we are restricted in size. The same for avitars. Problem is I don't know how to downsize my 8m megapixel photos down to this size. Any help anybody. Keep it simple please |

Title: Re: Pictures in posts Post by TiberiuS on Mar 1st, 2007, 9:25pm Wbph, if you posted 8meg images on any forum you'd get people shouting at you because often it b****rs up the enrtire page ;) You can either resize them to 800x600 or something with a graphics/photo editing program, or there may be sites on the net where you can do this, I've never looked ;) Then just upload them to someone like Photobucket, I'm not sure if they automatically resize them if you upload large images ina 800x600 slot, might be worth a try :) Regards, Bruce. |

Title: Re: Pictures in posts Post by mr._floppy on Mar 2nd, 2007, 1:06am No, please don't, I like the uncluttered predominately texted layout of this forum. I subscribe to a US Crown Vic Forum and due to the number of huge pictures and superfluous rubbish that each poster puts on their own personalised page that it takes an age to wade through the replies to find the real important stuff . |

Title: Re: Pictures in posts Post by Spannerdemon on Mar 2nd, 2007, 5:54am Wbph. A Very easy and FREE programme to use is Irfanview. www.irfanview.com Allows you do do virtually anything you want to do with pictures, including downsizing, re-touching etc etc. VERY simple to use. I use Photobucket to then upload pictures to the site. Free again. ;) If you want help on how to use either programme or uploading, then PM me. Snoopy has set the recommended size for pictures on this site at 640X480 anyway to ensure proper use of bandwidth. Irfanview allows you to reduce the size of any photo/picture to 640x480 at the touch of a button. Really very simple. |

I will have a look at the others offered. As a member of several forums I quite like the idea of sending in a picture but didn't know how. Thanks for the info. |

If you look at your profile.....scroll down to where it says 'I have my own pic'....check that box and enter the path where your picture is located (has to be on web somewhere) :) HTH |
