Title: New addition to the family Post by Jonnycab on Jun 22nd, 2008, 8:24pm The wifes new 2.3 Ultima estate ;)......1997 P reg, 77,000 miles, full main dealer service history, 10 months MOT & 5 months tax, 2 owners from new....the guy I bought it from only had it 2 months, he works for a Suzuki main dealer & it came in as a part exchange one day & he liked it so much he took it home, unfortunately they couldn't get the baby seat to fit properly (something to do with the baby seat being too high & the roof being too low :-/) so decided to sell it. The people who brought it into the main dealer were a retired couple who had owned the car from new....so it's really only had one real owner :) The car is in absolutely fab condition, drives lovely & everything works as it should with only a couple of very small faults. How much ?.....It was up for £1295, but after a bit of haggling I got it for £1050, which I think is quite a good price considering the condition, low mileage, FSH, 10 months MOT & 5 months Tax......& a full tank of petrol :D Me & the wife are well pleased with it ;D http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i101/jonnycab/P6120045.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i101/jonnycab/P6120044.jpg Oh, & it's even got dipping headlamp control, which I didn't think they had in P reg Scorps :) |

Title: Re: New addition to the family Post by Jonnycab on Jun 23rd, 2008, 12:03am No Gozz....a family car :)......it's getting too expensive to go abroad nowadays, so we thought we'd do a bit of camping around this fair land of ours ;) Got the tent & all the stuff, just needed a nice big comfy car to go touring with. Now I've finally found a good Scorp estate, then it's off to rough it in the wilds ;)...... ;D |

Title: Re: New addition to the family Post by gozz on Jun 23rd, 2008, 12:23am JC. Pleased to see you are exploring GB,most of those who keep charging off to hotter climes,phew,don't know their way around here.The Jones's dictate that it is de rigueur not to enjoy our overtaxed island.However,some of us do not give a monkeys for the Jones's,and feel a tad sorry for them ! GOZZ. |

Title: Re: New addition to the family Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jun 23rd, 2008, 10:37am A very nice looking car you have there JC - looks fully loaded with the headlamp washers and rear parking sensors too ! Sounds like you got it for a good price too. |
||
Title: Re: New addition to the family Post by Jonnycab on Jun 23rd, 2008, 10:53am Yep, fully loaded apart from no puddle lights or 'door open' red lights (got reflectors). My facelift saloon doesn't have these either, so it's not as though I'm gonna miss them ;) It does have rear parking sensors though, which my facelift doesn't have.....so it's slightly more loaded than my facelift ::)....... :) |

Title: Re: New addition to the family Post by Baz on Jun 23rd, 2008, 10:52pm What sort of baby seat is too high for a Scorpio?? What has he got, a baby giraffe or something!! ;D |
||
Title: Re: New addition to the family Post by Highlander on Jun 23rd, 2008, 11:11pm Never had problems with a baby seat but there are certain situations which arise in the back seat of a Scorpio when the roof height does present a problem ;) |
||
Title: Re: New addition to the family Post by Jonnycab on Jun 24th, 2008, 9:50am Because alot of modern child seats sit on quite a thick base then it raises the height of the seat significantly enough to present a problem getting the child in on cars with low roofs. Also, because the child seat is quite deep, then it can be difficult manouvering the child around the arms & into the seat. We had the same problem a couple of years back with our child seat. But as long as you're careful then bruises & pulled backs (me & wife) are kept to a minimum ;) The sellers had bought a Renault Scenic to replace the Scorp :-/ P.S.....the new Scorp also has flashing indicators on double lock. Along with the dipping headlamp control it's another thing that I didn't think you would find on a P reg :-/......then again, it is quite a late P reg :) |
