Title: Re: scorpio insurance Post by Highlander on Oct 30th, 2008, 4:02pm never heard of it for Scorpio's, maybe the Granada clubs might have something? I'm £160 TPFT for a 24v so I dont think I'd save a huge amount but I'm all for saving a pound or two |

Title: Re: scorpio insurance Post by Jonnycab on Nov 3rd, 2008, 12:42am Rich1, you're a London cabbie then eh.....no wonder you call yourself 'Rich1' ;).... }{ I'm a licenced (Hackney carriage) Brentwood cabbie & use my Scorp as my cab 8) Fully comp public liabilty insurance with protected no claims (never made or had a claim against me in 10 years of taxi insurance) costs me just under £800 which ain't bad for a taxi 'round these parts ;) The wifes 2.3 Ultima estate costs just over £200 TPFT with me included as a second driver.....not bad seeing as I'm a cabbie ;) ....& my MK1 Granada (with the wife as a second driver & limited mileage of 1500K) cost me a total of £89.00 fully comp to insure last time around with Adrian Flux (classic insurance) :) Some companies do classic insurance for cars that are only 15 years old. So it won't be too long before cheap classic insurance is available to many Scorpio owners :) |

Title: Re: scorpio insurance Post by lube-o-rific on Nov 15th, 2008, 1:37am My payments have gone up to £43 per month fully comp in 2.9 12v Ultima Saloon. My renewal is 5th May, so it's a part year (again)! I'm 25 with 7 years NCB. I just got my clean licence back today, I had 7 SP30 points which were 4 1/2 years old, they'll still show up at next renewal as they want history for 5 years! >:( Never mind! My first car when I was 17 was a 1988 Fiesta 1.1 Ghia, cost £1,100 TPFT annually. |

Title: Re: scorpio insurance Post by pinto on Nov 15th, 2008, 8:36pm My 2300 Ghia X scorp weighs in at £390 Fully comp with 4 years NCB and being 31. Funny thing is i was getting quotes for my newest additon to the fleet (a Transit Tourneo of all things ::) ) i decided to get a quote from Direct Line on a 24V Ultima - i was shocked to discover i could drop that by £47 ! :o - and getting a quote from the same place for my 2300 was the same as what im already paying..... Wonder how they worked that out ? ::) |

Title: Re: scorpio insurance Post by hopper on Dec 26th, 2008, 7:15am Hi, I'm 41 live in Plymouth in Devon and have a 24v Cosworth Estate. I have 10+ years protected no claims and pay £278. I always use confused.com the insurer I'm with this year is Norwich Union so not a small fly by night that disappears when you claim. Regards Chris |

Title: Re: scorpio insurance Post by Highlander on Dec 26th, 2008, 12:44pm I used Norwich Union once, cheapest quote by miles, around £170 TPFT.. when the renewal came in they put it up to £350!! I had no claims or changes in circumstances, when i called up to check it was because they offer a reduced first year discount! Tried to double it hoping I wouldnt notice.. Now been with Churchill two years :) |
