Title: Almost Scorpless(again)
Post by pat on Jan 14th, 2009, 7:15pm
Well folks, we've just bought the Scorp's intended replacement (but I seem to recall we have been here before.....). The Scorp's up for sale, the Mondeo's up for sale.
The newcomer is a Rover 623 Gsi. Very nice car but seating compares badly with the Scorp. I am not the first to discover that Scorpio ownership spoils you for anything else.  {}  It's ironic that the last few monthsof running have seen it at its most reliable.
I want to say a big thank you to you all for all the helpful advice you have given me. It's also been great fun and reading the postings has relieved many a gloomy night.
I still intend to keep in touch with the site and possibly make the odd contribution here and there. (Odd - no change there then  :D)
Cheers chaps and all the best.     Pat

Sorry to hear you're selling the Scorpio.
I myself had a 623 Gsi not long ago.
It was an L plate with 53000 proved miles on it and cost a total of £500 including putting it through the Mot and taxing it for 6 months.
Thought I'd hit the jackpot until It was written off a few weeks later by a rear end double shunt.
Back to a good old Ford now though.
Best of luck with the Rover. I know what you mean about the space, I'm 6 ft 3 and although the seat goes far enough back, the poor b****r behind you ends up in a foetal pose for the journey.
Regards,
Mark
