I have taken the govenments shilling and traded my 24v in as scrappage against a new hyundai i20, don't know when to expect it's arrival but it's a lot of stuff for the money.

I received £2900 off of the price, more than I could ever imagine for a 12 year old car, although I will miss the cossie that I only paid £150 for 3 years ago which saved her from going to the scrapyard.

If anybody wishes to swap any bits before she goes let me know by pm and we can sort something out (12 spoke alloys maybe ?)

How about an engine swap?? ;)

How far do you need to drive it to drop it off?

would they miss a water pump? }{

Engine is a bit rattly, (timing chain) but has been since I got her

have to take it about 4 miles to the dealers, I think they may just notice the water pump missing ::)

Whats the procedure once they get handed over then?
do they go to a breaker or do they have to just be cubed straight away?
anyone know?

Stuart, I understand that they have to go to a breaker. AFAIK they can be broken but they cannot be re-sold in the way a damaged car can. The sad thing is there are lots of cars in good condition which are no longer avaiable for first timers or people who want a decent second car for example. ;)

If I had the time I would have liked to have swapped brakes, wheels and 24v for my 16v :-[

From what the sales chappie told me it needs to be running because they have to take it to the crusher, and it goes in as is without anything coming off.
