Title: New wishbones
Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jan 5th, 2011, 6:15pm
The mystery deepens...
I ordered a pair of brand new Scorpio front wishbones from http://seekpart24.com/ford/scorpio-ii-estate-gnr-ggr-94/2-3-i-16v-3/steering-links-wishbone-trailing-link-diagonal-arm-100571 @ Eur 100.10 each + about Eur 15 for shipping on 17th December - they arrived today in a large cardboard box with Quinton Hazell tape round it and each wishbone was in a polythene bag with a QH sticker on it.
So the question remains...why can't QH or anyone else in the UK get hold of them  ???

It's a mystery  ???....possibly Ford have recently released the rights for pattern parts to be produced & QH can now produce & supply them ?.....You may have been the first to purchase a pair !!  ;)

Are they defo scorpio wishbones & not Granada ones ?  :)

I know Gozz, but someone on here (can't remember who) ordered a pair of Scorpio wishbones from QH a while ago & got a pair of Granada arms through the post  ::)

These are definately Scorpio arms. I am familiar with Mk3 Granada arms as they are very similar to the Sierra front arms.
I phoned BuyPartsBy a few weeks ago as they had Scorpio front arms listed on the website with the correct picture - I asked the guy to check the part against the picture - he phoned back and said it was the wrong part listed so no sale.

Yes, they are in the QH catalogue but during a phone call a few weeks ago directly to QH technical support I was told that they had never actually had the parts in stock - I quoted the part number to the guy and he knew exactly which part I was referring to.
The wishbones are listed by a number of other parts suppliers like Firstline & FAI but exhaustive enquiries revealed no stock in the UK and endless responses of 'Oh yeah, they are in the catalogue but are we've never been able to get any or they must be discontinued.'

Looks like Germany is the best bet for new wishbones - and they take Paypal too.
