Title: Cossie now gone Post by roger_howes on Feb 8th, 2011, 2:29pm Hello all, Sad days, my Cossie estate failed its MOT hopelessly - mainly body rot but other things too. Repairs would have cost more than the car is worth. So, I passed her on as scrap. Have now got a Subaru Outback, but I miss the Cossie, and I had it longer than other car I've owned. Cheerio all, have enjoyed your correspondence. Roger. |

Title: Re: Cossie now gone Post by roger_howes on Feb 9th, 2011, 12:04pm Hello Highlander, Someone has taken it for the same amount the scrappie would have given me. I think he's just parked it up! He'd been after it for a long time. It wasn't leather, but it ran like dream. Not so long ago I had the timing chains, sprockets, guides, etc all changed - cost me £2000, so didn't really get the value out of that. It had done only 80K. Ho-hum! Regards. Roger. |

Title: Re: Cossie now gone Post by Baz on Feb 14th, 2011, 9:58pm Hi roger, sorry to hear of your cars sad demise.... hopefully another will live on using donor parts. Those chains etc. would have been worth the £200 on their own! Baz |

Title: Re: Cossie now gone Post by roger_howes on Mar 21st, 2011, 1:37pm Sorry for delay in replying - have had hols plus busy. I do have the full Cosworth gasket set, which includes the head gasket - cost me over £200. The only bits missing are those used for the timing chain cover and rocker cover when replacing the chains. If anyone's interested, make me an offer. Regards. Roger. |
