The sunroof motor is knackerd ordered another on ebay.

Hi Rob and welcome !
Nice looking Sierra you had, nice looking Scorpio too.
Sounds like you need to post in the problems / need advice sub forums.
ABS light is quite a common problem.
What is the problem with the towbar ? I found it quite easy to fit.

Rob.
Presumably you have the air assisted rear shockers, the compressor is under the bumper on your drivers side,it's controlled by the height sensor bolted to the rear floor and operated by a link rod attached to the right hand suspension arm.The sensor closes the little brown relay 20 in the aux fuse box and powers the compressor. There is about a 20 second delay built in so that the system is not in continuous operation.
Check the compressor by connecting a live wire to it also check the earth, the relay can be temporarily substituted for the one next to it.if you remove the sensor rod from the suspension arm the sensor can be manually operated in different positions not forgetting the delay. The engine must be running to lift the suspension, but to lower it just the ignition switched on,there is a little dump valve in the top of the compressor which lowers it.Don't forget of course fuse 30.
                                                                          GOZZ.

hi there

you would need to change the shocks as well as the springs. it's the shocks that control the height the car sits at.

usually, cars with a self levelling system have soft spring rates, so that's why both shock and spring needs changed as a pair.

It is been a while.

been in the hospital for 4 weeks.. and i am a little weak

so progress has been slow..

but some things have changed on the car.
There is no more normal light in the car.. its all Led
the headlights have Xenon.. including the Big beam

Have changed the windscreenwipers as the where blocked.. but couldnt get a set of heated ones.. but on the scrapyard whas a Focus and they fitt :) only the connections ( electric and plumbing) are shorter.. but thats not hard to extend.

And how i Love Ebay.. but a set of new Brakes

http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-4XBEZSX8.jpg

zo i have to get rit of the Escos wheels.. and traded it against some RS7 soft spoke or softlines as whe call them.

and i had some 17 inch rims from my previous car.. so treid them on

http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-CZ6RW8XW.jpg

http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-IGGSL3Z8.jpg

not to shure about the color tho. maybe in silver or black? or another color. any suggestions?

and the care came with the self leveling option.. but wasnt fucntion 100% so dicided to change the rear schock for a stock item with normal springs.. wel.. normal springs.. lowering springs off course.
and also changed the front springs and schocks.

so the front end sits very nice. but the back is stil looking at the sky. think that my little friend the grinder has to come in to action.

any body know if rs7 fit over Frs mk1 brakes?

Cheers Rob

You have a lovely car, but don't we all!   As far as the wheels are concerned, in my opinion there is no better wheel for the Scorpio than the Ford 12 spoke alloy.   I've just re-furbished mine by powder-coating.   If you want colour suggestion, I suggest Silver.   How about a Wood-Trim Steering-Wheel...... ;)

a have a set of mint 12 spoke.. but there 16 inch. and i really like to see the brakes.. ecspelly when i upgrade the brakes ;)  and silver wheels i think the rs7 would look really nice. but this set would be to detailed.

en wood trim steering wheel?? EEEK jykes.. not my cup of thee.. ive ordered a rol of carbon folie and going to cover that wood..
wood looks good in a boot.. or in a home. or a shed.. but most of all.. in a fire ;)

I have those brakes to, youll need brackets and if using the soft spoke wheels youll need wheel spacers,

Give the calipers a very good check over, mine had broken dust seals, which made the pistons stick, you can get the seal kit off porsche!

Which spring kit did you use? Ive put H&R springs on mine, 30mm all round and my rears now sit in the arches (ive got 17inch rs diamond cut alloys) so id double check your rear springs if you say its still high

Hy Matt.. i think i really need brackets to fit the brakes. dindt think it is going to be an easy swap ( dont have the calipers yet.

Did you mount your calipers yet? or made an bracket/ test setup?

i bought spaxx springs 30mm lowering

but compared to leaking rear schoks with to soft spring rate the would be okay only lowering stock car.

Ive had them test fitted, yea an adaptor bracket has to be made, and a bit of the caliper needs maching out. Ive got some photos of when i had them on with the test brackets (only 2mm thick) in just waiting for a seal kit then ill make the full thickness (12mm) brackets and fit them

could you share those picture's with me?

and any change those brakes would fit behind 17 rs7 ??

Cheers

Hi Rob

I'll put them up next week, im currently away atm using the mobile for web access.

the diamond cuts are pretty much the same as the rs7's (just the face machined off and a lip) so you will need wheel spacers to fit the brembo calipers. ive got a set of the soft spokes like yours on a cougar so ill try one of those on the scorpio. Im doing some other mods to but i reckon you would need a 5mm spacer, but double check. also anything more then 6mm and the front tyres will stick out of the arches, which here in the UK is a mot failure.

im looking at having the face of the calipers skimmed down, then some of the webbing on the back of the alloys machined down also. with the above you could get away with a 2mm spacer.

Heya Rob

i quite like that carbon, im going along the lines of piano black myself, the long wooden door trims can be removed if you take the door card off, they are just screwed on, still playing round with the dash as im not 100% sure i like it yet lol

http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd429/Matt24v/Scorpio%20Related/IMAG0447.jpg

heres a coule of pics of my car sitting on the H&R lowering kit

http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd429/Matt24v/Scorpio%20Related/IMAG0274.jpg

both my scorpios, the one is bog standard on steel rims, but it makes it clear how low the rear has dropped

http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd429/Matt24v/Scorpio%20Related/Scorpiolow.jpg

like promised ill get the caliper pics up shortly

I did the Blue LED's in the switches a while ago, even stripped down a 7000rds radio and swapped the leds, Lenny now has that radio, took ages to do lol.

No doubt your car will be finished before mine, like everyone else lol

little update about the brakes.

made a test setup. and it just fits.
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-JDR8YXSB.jpg

http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-UG8BNQCK.jpg

only question is wil the wheel fit in the arches. because i used a 15mm spacer to get the wheel over the caliper.

and a friend of mine is making some brackets. hoping that it turns out nice.. than its a real nice upgrade.

only hoping that i can use the softlines as i like them.
