Title: Then there was Two!
Post by PJDavis on Mar 18th, 2012, 5:49pm
I am now the very proud owner of Two State Blue Scorpios, hoorah!
I had a very boring train journey taking Nine hours down to Newark, where Neil kindly agreed to bring my prospective purchase.   It's a great car, and drove the 428 miles up the road like a peach.   I left the petrol station about 5pm, and was at my house virtually on the dot of 12.30am.   I thought that was very good, I averaged over 55 mph and got 32.6 mpg.   I just set the cruise control to about 77mph on the dual carriageways and Motorways, and then on the A68 set it to about 65mph.   Course when I got to Perth I had only the A9 to do which is wide open with only three cameras North of Perth and no-where for the Cops to hide.   So on the A9 single carriageway was set to just under 80 mph (because if yer caught over 80mph you have to make a court appearance!)   On Dual carriageways it was set to just under 90 mph, for the same reason!

Despite being a 2.0ltr the car has plenty of GO, and feels like it has plenty of life in it yet.   My intention initially is to swap the very few bits that are better on it than mine.   Boot-lid, passenger door card, and the puddle-lights because mine doesn't have them.   Then I'll use the car for a good while until the tax runs out at the end of August.   As Neil said in his attempt to get rid of the car, it would be a shame to scrap it, but I'm afraid I will more than likely scrap it, it's no-where near as good as my 2.3, but would yield a lot of good spares for me.   I've spent the whole day today cleaning it inside and out, and feeding the leather.   (Not that the car was really filthy or anything, it came in great shape)   So I shall put a wee tentative bit in the Cars for Sale section, and if anyone bites that's ok, if not I'm not too worried.

Below is a couple of pics of 'The Twins'.
