Title: Mot passed
Post by a900one on Aug 19th, 2012, 12:47pm
After sitting in my garden for two months Sorn, I wanted to get my number put on the scorp. For this it needs to be taxed, I had taken the tax off as the insurance had run out and you cant have a car with tax and no insurance now ???.
Having a look for the mot I found it had run out, so now I need all three. So I rang to insured it, then rang to see when the garage had a space, that afternoon one slot free, so without even looking at the car, put in for test. Not expecting it to pass to my surprise it passed  no problems at all ;D.

Probably not, if you've ever watched them Traffic Cops programmes, no insurance = everything else is void, so it's seized. On the public highway that is

Just to add to the post, I have hids fitted, no problems. I have headlight washers and level adjustment, but not automatic adjustment.

HID's are part of a dispute currently running between The Motor-Trade-Association and the DOT, along with testing Tow-Bar electrics so everything regarding these matters have been shelved and MOT testing stations have been instructed to just check if the items are working correctly and advise if they're not, but it doesn't constitute a fail at the moment.   But it surely will in future.

I asked my friendly very-strict testing station about this because my car has a new-fitted tow-bar.   The above was his answer in the middle of August.   He showed me the directive.
