::) Hi All - I have been a grateful user of this site for many years but not signed in for ages. So apologies for the long message.

My Scorpio is another 17 year old - one of the first 2.9 Cosworths built in December 1994, I have owned it since June 2001, had quite a few problems due to poor servicing & bodged repairs to start with, but with the help of the site everything has gradually got fixed. The car has been in regular use but low mileage as I have always had another car so not yet (quite) got to 100K miles. My wife and I both prefer it to our much newer Mondeo, the only downside is the fuel usage on long journeys, the Mondeo (2.3 petrol Auto) is not a lot better around town but on long runs goes twice as far on a tank of fuel. I live in SE Essex conveniently close to Spikies for spares but I have only met up with him once. Have the Alex Peper ODB diagnostic kit (upgraded it to the Trican vesion) so it does more or less all cars and even the ABS on the Scorpio. So if anybody local needs a bit of diagnosis get in touch - know an awful lot about this car now.
