Title: End Of The Road
Post by lesterlad aka Rodders on Feb 14th, 2014, 8:31pm
It is with much sadness that I have to announce the demise of my 2.3 Ghia Scorpio estate.

After fitting a new Clutch assembly and duel mass flywheel (supplied courtesy of P J Davis) and finding it was the wrong specs, then the internal slave cylinder also failed,  and at over £200 for a another slave cylinder plus fitting It didn't really justify any more expense.

Also while it was on the ramp my mechanic informed me that the steering rack was also leaking slightly.

Sorry to see it go but there comes a time when one has to say no more when on a tight budget.
:( :( :( :(

There will be some spares available soon but nothing that entails me crawling under it unless anyone wants to visit Leicester to remove stuff themselves.

Rod, I heard your news earlier today from your 'biscuit donor' and I am sorry to hear that you are now Scorpio less. I guess all of us on here understand the situation and can only offer our sympathy. I hope you will continue to look in on the site and keep in touch. Very best wishes. Mike. :(

I certainly will, I don't intend to abandon the many friends I've made on this great site.

Very sorry to hear of your plight.   I s'pose it could happen to any of us, as I mentioned on here before the car is a lovely mark in the eyes of the beholder, but sadly it's status as a classic or something desirable is a way off yet.   I hope you find something to replace the Scorpio.

Regards

Peter
