As above folks, plus no advisories   :).

So I gave her a kisssss - the car not the missus - don't want to get her worried.

Another happy year  8)

Thank you everybody  :)

I expect you will be wondering about Graham's link - brilliant mate, had me laughing out loud  :D.

Here goes:  We were heading down a South Devon road toward Modbury - pouring rain all day with lots of floods and it was now dark when I saw that the road ahead was flooded on a slight right hand bend.  We had come down this road some 3hrs. earlier with no problems and now with no turning place for hundreds of yds. and anyway I had no rearward visibility to reverse .  So, slowly into the water and proceeding okay when suddenly the water was covering about a foot up the bonnet - above the Headlights, she almost cut out - I recon she was firing on 2 Cylinders, and I was praying, and very scared as was Carol. Well, "Ruby" kept going and we emerged; one very unhappy car, spluttering and losing the gears but she kept going and with 70 miles to reach home she drove better and better and was almost back to normal by the time we got home.

Upon examination the next day I found the Air Filter sodden and buckled out of its seating and the Box half full of dirty water. The Resonance box was flooded and I could see that water had entered the Inlet Plenum (brown muddy marks).

Straw and stuff half way up the Rad and muddy splash marks on the Slam panel and on top of the Inlet ducting.

I cleaned the MAF. and all affected parts with lots of Carb Cleaner, fitted a new Air Filter.

"I expect you will be wondering about Graham's link - brilliant mate, had me laughing out loud  Cheesy."

Now that is a great sense of humour!  ;D :D

Thanks for the explanation Mike.  :)

:). To continue:  ... and she drove just fine.  I had nearly 300 miles to drive over the next couple of days after which with the Engine bay now dry I squirted a load of WD40 around everything.  I wanted things to be dry before applying WD40 as I didn't want to trap water anywhere.

I took photos but ain't a clue how to get them on here - I will get one of my Sons to do that for me.

Swimathon!!!  :D  ::) Maybe NOT.

This article might help you or your son (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=admin;action=display;num=1268569404) Essentially you have to host the photos elsewhere before posting on here. :)
