Title: MOT failure Post by Nunnspoet on Oct 1st, 2018, 8:25am Well, the inevitable has happened: The Beast failed the MOT, miserably, rust being the real killer, last Thursday. Insurance cancelled and SORN will follow this notice. I have owned The beast for about 12 years, bought her from EricR and what a car!! So now I shall use her to keep my other 24 valve Cosworth Estate,"Ruby," up to scratch. So I shall not be selling any of the parts just yet. Never mind. Mike Scorpios rule |

Title: Re: MOT failure Post by a900one on Oct 1st, 2018, 9:31am A sad day for you Mike. But as you say, it will help to keep your other one on the road, as spares are getting very hard to find now. Gerald. |

Title: Re: MOT failure Post by Tenfut on Oct 1st, 2018, 9:47am Sad news but hey ho you still have another one. Did you sort the water pump problem? BTW I have owned mine for 19 years. Tony |

Title: Re: MOT failure Post by Simmo on Oct 1st, 2018, 9:58am Sad news indeed Mike. Eric was one of the first guys I met at a Kent meet many years ago and his car was immaculate and kept in an Air Conditioned garage as I recall! When he retired and moved 'up North' he bought a Jaguar and sadly cut his ties with this site which he had helped set up. Many of his original articles are still here. :) |

Title: Re: MOT failure Post by Torbayboy on Oct 1st, 2018, 5:54pm Truly a sad day for you, I suspect you had been aware for a few years that once the tinworm bites you can only slow it down :( As others have already said at least you have another so its not end of Scorpios for you. Must be really bad if you can't save it, and gutting for a car you've had so long. Roy |

Title: Re: MOT failure Post by Nunnspoet on Oct 3rd, 2018, 8:50am Thank you everyone for your kind messages, and, indeed I am much cheered as I have plans to utilise all the good parts of The Beast to best enhance 'Ruby.' So The Beast lives on! All good stuff really. Happy Scorpio days to everyone. Mike ;D 8) |
