I have seen aftermarket ones listed but usually out of stock - no idea what quality - like this:

Although the supplier has very mixed reviews for the quality of the non genuine parts they sell for other cars, I am still tempted to "take one for the team" and order a front bumper as I still have my black Scorpio off the road awating me repairing the bumper.

Only difficulty is that car has headlamp washers and the new bumpers don't come with that opening. Not sure what it would entail to convert a standard bumper if it is even possible.

I'm not sure they come with the cutaways, somewhere I've seen a pdf with a template to cut them.

Must say I've never found Scorpio headlights get that dirty - I wouldn't bother with them :) but then I've taken the front foglights off 'cause I find them useless - each to his own ;)

The parts list gives the same part no's for the earlier bumpers 7384889 & says Refer To Technical Service Bulletin from 01.10.1994, to 30.11.1997, With Headlamp Washer

Interesting to note that the picture on Tompions link is identical to that on ebay item, but the price is a LOT less. Perhaps if we get a good report back he could sell a few more!! ::)

Well as an update:

The bumper arrived today - all the way from Latvia via DPD so not in the UK as advertised and that explains the LT VAT number in the Ebay listing! :)

Not sure what to make of it, certainly can see why its cheaper than other aftermarket ones. This thing is constructed of fibreglass and arrived with a small chip out of the corner (thanks to the poor packaging - literally wrapped in polythene and shoved in a large box....no padding whatsoever) I'm amazed it didn't arrived in much worse condition.

I cannot work out for certain where the side clips shown in "5" of the above removal/fitting guide are - either on the car or where they fix to on the bumper? I think they are probably meant to be forward of the clip and rivet where the bumper meets the wing (on drivers side behind the wash bottle?) If this is where they should be there is nothing to attach the side fixings to at all on this bumper!

Scorpio Front Bumper (https://flic.kr/p/2f2ZzfT)

There are no clips or rivet holes pre drilled as depicted in "6"

It has come with the upper bolt brackets that attach with the bolts in "10"

This may be going back to Latvia!

I think with aftermarket stuff like this you expect to do a bit of fettling.

Unless some early one's are different they're not as in the pdf.
No turn screw as in 5 - the back bumper has those. Instead there are 2 slots along the top edge that clip into a plastic fixing where the bumper meets the wing. You have to pull the bumper out sideways to release these - the slots are rather weak and split easily.
No 6 there are 2 screws through the bumper and a clip into the skirt.

Thanks for the feedback, its good to know that the fittings in "5" are not likely to be needed then!

I know I will need to do some fettling to make it fit.

Just not sure about fibreglass knowing how brittle it can be.

Just a quick note as I was browsing, the item link om Tompion's entry above shows the Scorpio bumper unavailable, but see they are still on flea bay via the original HERE link at the top.
