Federation of Automatic Transmission Engineers

The Federation's objectives are to promote the reputation of the rebuilding industry and help maintain standards of workmanship, and hopes to provide technical and managerial information geared to help it's members, most of which are small firms. Any firm rebuilding, servicing or supplying components for Automatic Transmissions can apply for membership.

FATE are currently celebrating 25 years as the only body representing independent Automatic Transmission rebuilders in the UK, Ireland and Europe, which is supported by a group of dedicated transmission specialists. The Federation has a nation-wide warranty registered with the Office of Fair Trading.

'There is a Ford breakers in Stainforth near Doncaster.  They only break Fords and do mail order parts.  They have lots of parts on the shelf.  I have used the yard a couple of times and they aren't cheap by breakers' standards but a damn site cheaper than Ford.  ie 2.0 exhaust manifold £50, Climate Control facia controls and electronic control unit £40

I have had a job getting through on the phone a couple of times but keep trying as I think they use the same line for the Fax'
