Idle Air Control (IAC)Valve Data The Idle Air Control Valve is a solenoid-operated pintle valve that controls the flow of air through the Throttle Bypass Pipe. This air bypasses the throttle plate and, together with the INJector duration and the Spark Advance, permits the EECV PCM to control engine idle. The solenoid opens and closes the pintle in direct relation to the current supplied by the PCM and operates from 0% to 100% duty cycle - i.e. fully open to fully closed.
